Installation

The Dine-A-Chook Big Red Chicken Drinker with Twin Lubing Cups is easy to use. Complete with rear moulded hooks, secure it with the mounting kit supplied onto timber or steel. Once installed, remove the lockable lid and fill it with clean water. To test the Lubing Cups, simply press the yellow float down, and water should start filling the water cup reservoir. Birds quickly learn this ingenious method of water delivery.

Thanks to the Lubing Cup and float engineering, Dine-A-Chook Drinkers help keep the floor of your aviary or chicken coop dry!

When the Lubing Cup becomes soiled, hose it out, and it will be clean and ready to use in a jiffy. The pressure from a hose will not damage the Lubing Cup or float. Our exclusive Dine-A-Chook float ensures that your chickens have water all the time as long as there is water in the unit. No mess, no leaks.

Mounting Your Chicken Drinker

  • Fix the unit to timber or steel using the mounting hooks or the brackets and screws supplied.
  • Always position the waterer so that even the smallest bird in the flock can access the water.
  • Consider placing it in a shady position, as water heats up if left in the sun all day.

The average hen can drink up to 500 ml per day. Water consumption varies with age, breed, and diet. For adequate hydration, consider a second waterer if your flock is greater than four birds.

How Long Will 4 Litres Last?

  • 2 Chickens: One 4 Litre Drinker should last approximately 4 days. Check after 3 days.
  • 6-8 Chickens: One 4 Litre Drinker will need checking daily.

For flocks larger than 8 chickens, purchase two to three drinkers. Ideally, place them around the coop or run in shady locations so chickens do not have to travel long distances to access water.
